Bhailo

Nepal has many vibrant and colourful festivals and Tihar is one of them. Bhailo is a traditional song - sung by various generations of Nepalese women during the night of Laxmi Puja. My grandmother passed "Bhailo" down to my mother, and now it's been passed down to me :). Happy Tihar from both my mother and I.

Lyrics:
Bhailini ayin agana,
barali kudali raakhana
A aunsiko din gai tihar ho bhailo
Hario Gobar le lipeko,
laxmi puja gareko
A aunsiko din gai tihar ho bhailo
Hami tesai ayenau,
bali raja le pathako
A aunsiko din gai tihar ho bhailo
Jasle dinchha mano,
Usko sunko chaano
A aunsiko din gai tihar ho bhailo
Bhailini ayin agana,
Gunyo cholo maagana
A aunsiko bara
gai tihar ho bhailo
